ProductLab provides incentives and offers to individuals who work in the “gig economy” (“Users”) when they complete market research surveys. We then provide your personal information to third parties to identify potential offers we can share with you and/or provide compensation to you or us to continue offering this service.
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to all personal information collected by us on https://productlab.ai/ (the “Site”) and any other website or mobile application that links to this Policy, as well as during any written, electronic, and oral communications (collectively, the “Services”).
Your access to and use of our Services are subject to our Terms and Conditions, which define some of the terms used throughout this Policy. By using our Services, you accept the Terms and Conditions, and accept our privacy practices described in this Policy. If you do not feel comfortable with any part of this Policy or our Terms and Conditions, you must not use or access our Services.
Our Services may change from time to time and we reserve the right to update or modify this Policy at any time. If we make any material changes to the way we process your personal information, we will notify you before such changes are effective. Your continued use of our Services after any changes or revisions to this Policy indicates your agreement to the terms of the revised Policy.
Personal Information We Collect
When you use our Services, we may collect or receive personal information about you to provide our Services and operate our business.
Information You Provide to Us Directly
You may provide your personal information to us when you use our Services, including when you register with ProductLab, respond to offers, or otherwise access our Services. This information may include:
- Registration Details — first name, last name, email address, phone number, region, and company name. We also collect registration details if you register for and access your account via third-party social log-in.
- Earnings and Activity Data — information about your earnings, the number of trips, rides, or other activities you’ve completed or engaged in.
- Personal Data — data you provide in the context of a panel, when you participate in a survey, or in connection with the receipt and redemption of rewards. This includes a unique panelist/respondent ID we assign you and the responses you provide. You may choose to provide sensitive Personal Data; where required by law, we obtain your explicit consent to process it. We may also collect content you submit, such as photos and videos.
- Identity Verification Data — to verify your identity before payouts, our verification provider (Stripe Identity) collects an image of your government-issued ID, the document type and issuing country, and the name, date of birth, and address shown on it. Verification may include an automated comparison of your ID photo to a selfie.
- Financial and Payout Information — the PayPal or Venmo account you use to receive payouts, and your payout transaction history.
- Connected Account Data — we allow you to connect certain third party accounts (e.g., rideshare or delivery accounts via our provider Argyle, or a bank account) to give us direct access to specific information maintained on those accounts, such as earnings and shift data.
- Earnings Statement Images — images of earnings statements, receipts, and similar documents you submit. We process these with optical character recognition (OCR); they may contain personal information visible in the document.
- Precise Geolocation Data — with your permission, we collect precise geolocation (GPS) data from your device. We sometimes share this anonymized data with third parties so they can issue location-based offers to you via our application. You can disable location sharing in your device settings at any time.
- Employment Details — contact information and employment-related information if you apply for a job with us, such as previous and current work history, education, and skills.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you access our Site and use our Services, we, our service providers, and our business partners may automatically log information about you, your device, and your activity over time, such as:
- Technical Information and Device Data — your browser and operating system, IP address, unique device identifiers, and device type. With your permission, we may also collect your device or browser’s HTML5 location to auto-identify your region.
- Site Usage Information and Preferences — pages or screens viewed, time spent, navigation paths, access times, and duration of access, to better understand traffic patterns and usage.
- Usage Analytics, Session Replay, and Error Data — we use analytics tools (PostHog), including session replay that records how you interact with our screens, and error-monitoring tools (Sentry) that capture technical details when something goes wrong.
Some of our automatic data collection is facilitated by cookies (text files that uniquely identify your browser or store settings) and web beacons (pixel tags or clear GIFs used to demonstrate that a webpage or email was accessed). See “Your Rights and Choices” below for how to manage these.
Browser Extension Data
If you choose to install and enable a ProductLab browser extension (for example, our Safari extension), we collect information about your browsing activity from that browser, which may include the web addresses (URLs) and titles of pages you visit and the dates and times of those visits. We collect this information only if you install the extension and grant the browser permissions it requests. We use it to surface offers that are relevant to you and to match you with surveys about your experiences and opinions (for example, inviting you to share feedback about a store, product, or service you recently visited online). This means we build a profile of your interests from your browsing activity to make those offers and survey invitations relevant. You can pause or stop this collection at any time by disabling or uninstalling the extension in your browser settings.
Sensitive Personal Information
Some information we collect is “sensitive personal information” under applicable law, including your government identification, precise geolocation, and financial account information. We use it only to provide and secure the Services, verify identity, prevent fraud, and process payouts — not to infer characteristics about you. California residents may request that we limit its use as described in “California Residents” below.

To Whom We Disclose Your Personal Information
- Affiliates — entities that control or are under the control of ProductLab, required to comply with this Policy.

These currently include Stripe (identity verification and payments), PayPal and Venmo (payouts), Twilio (text messaging), Customer.io (email and messaging), Google (maps and OCR), PostHog (analytics and session replay), and Sentry (error monitoring).
- Clients and Research Partners — companies to whom we sell certain personal information (such as Registration Details, Earnings and Activity Data, and panel data) to help them understand market trends, target promotions, identify offers, and provide compensation to continue offering the Services. This disclosure may constitute a “sale” or “share” under California law; see “California Residents” for how to opt out.
- Survey and Offer Partners — partners through whom we source surveys and offers, including InBrain, Cint, PureSpectrum, Precision Sample, Pollfish, and Adjoe. We share demographic information with these partners to match you with studies and offers.
- Authorities and Others — law enforcement, government authorities, and private parties, as we believe necessary or appropriate for compliance and operations.
- Business Transferees — relevant participants during a sale, transfer, merger, reorganization, dissolution, or similar event.

We provide you and your authorized agents certain privacy rights related to the personal information we collect. These rights are not absolute, and in certain cases we may decline your request as permitted by law. To exercise these rights you must log in to your account to confirm your identity.
